Bulky Item/Space in Carton.

A Bulk item is something that is too large to fit into a Standard box or bag. It is a type of packaging which include bulk containment of product or product groups and bulk distribution. So, if product A (a larger package) and products B, C and D (refers to smaller packages) can be added to the packaging of product A this is called Nesting packaging Logic.

Another example is a package of a HD flat screen Tv. Included in the package is the flat screen tv with the Power cord and remote and other cable which is included in the set. So the warehouse doesn't need to send the items individually but in bulk with the main package which is the TV.

Shown below are the steps on how to enable Bulky Item/Space in Carton packaging:

Step 1: From the Inventory Management >> Click on Add Inventory Button >> Type the inventory item description.

Step 2: Click drop down arrow in Packaging logic. Choose Bulky Item/Space in Carton >> then Click Add item >> Enter the item dimension >> Then click save.

Step 3: Get a quotation in Quote and Book Module. screen shot below shows the difference if BULKY ITEM is ENABLED or DISABLED:

If BULKY ITEMS/SPACE IN CARTON ON PACKAGING LOGIC is ENABLED >>

THEN you add 2 items in the  Quote and Book:

The System will choose the nearest Package logic for Bulky items. Item 1 is large enough that item 2 can be included inside the item 1. so it will be quoted as 1 extra large Package.

is DISABLED >>

THEN you add 2 items in the  Quote and Book:
